CGB / Product guides
Choose for the occasion.
Define the audience and the job a product needs to do before comparing colors or adding a logo.
Start with a sentence
“We need a product for these people, at this occasion, to use in this way.” A brief for shoppers carrying purchases is different from one for new employees receiving a welcome kit. Write that sentence before narrowing the assortment.
Match the item to the moment
- Retail: compare tote dimensions and handle styles with the purchases they need to carry.
- Meetings and events: consider lanyards for identification, drinkware for use during the event and notebooks for working sessions.
- Welcome kits: choose products that work together, such as a bag, bottle and pen, rather than repeating the same function.
- Printed campaigns: compare seed paper formats and the available imprint area with the message you need to communicate.
Compare a short list
For each candidate, note the dimensions, materials, available colors, minimum quantity and imprint options. Check the actual product page: a feature available on one item may not be offered on another.
Resolve the deciding detail
If the decision depends on a color, finish, size or how the product feels, ask about a sample before approving a printed order. Give the team your delivery date so product selection and timing can be considered together.
